I aim to convince the brush to express the beauty of what I visualise with my individuality. By amalgamating such dramatic colours, I want to engage the audience to understand how intense and aggressive the sea can be. I aim to paint what I visualise in front of me but apply dramatic lights and darks which forms more energy and movement.
Also, I have experimented with my painting techniques over time and developed them further from thumbnail samples. My techniques have developed throughout my whole journey. With impasto, I use thick layers of pigment to express the movement of the sea; this thickness of the paint can be spread and incorporated in surfaces which make the paint playable. Using thin layers of glazing for skies, I also have a method of incorporating darker colours as the first layer where lighter lies on top, thus providing depth and energy to the ocean.
